Dr. Esther L. Guard, D.O., F.A.A.F.P., recently joined the FHP Health Center in the Adult Medicine Clinic. 

Dr. Guard brings a wealth of experience from her previous roles in the military healthcare system. She served as the staff family medicine physician at the 567th RED HORSE Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, North Carolina.She has also served as staff family medicine physician, medical director, and department head at the 4th Medical Group Health Care Operations Squadron at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base.

Her dedication to comprehensive patient care positively impacted numerous lives. She also has unique teaching experience as a core faculty member at Eglin Family Medicine Residency Clinic at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. Her extensive experience in these roles has firmly established her as a trusted and esteemed medical expert.

Dr. Guard completed her family medicine residency at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, California, and her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has also earned her Master of Medical Education from Nova Southeastern University and a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech.

Dr. Guard's qualifications are a testament to her commitment to patient care. She is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and holds medical licenses in Guam and Virginia. Her certifications include Combat Casualty Care, Advanced Trauma Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, S.T.A.B.L.E Newborn Post-Resuscitation, Advanced Life Support in Obstetrics, Neonatal Resuscitation Program, and Basic Life Support.

Her honors and awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (2023, 2020), the Air Force Commendation Medal (2017), and the Navy & Marine Corps Achievement Medal (2013).
