FHP Health Center’s Carmencita “Menchu” Atalig, RN, BSN, was awarded “Honorary Nursing Practice in Community Health” at the Guam Nurses Association’s 73rd Anniversary & Awards Night Gala at the Dusit Thani on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Atalig, a GNA director at-large, has been the FHP Home Health and Hospice case manager since 2016.

Rose Grino, FHP Health Center’s health delivery administrator, says, “Menchu utilizes a holistic approach in caring for patients. She goes above and beyond not only to care for the patient ensuring they die with dignity and love, in addition she educates and engages family as caregivers. She displays empathy, understanding, and patience while showing the importance of forming human relationship and honoring dignity and worth. Menchu believes everyone deserves someone by their bedside to die and everyone deserves a beautiful death.”
