TakeCare, a TanHoldings company, and the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association (NMIFA) announced a 5 year, $10,000.00 per year, sponsorship for the youth soccer league.
“TakeCare and the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association share similar goals to benefit the youth in the community,” said George Chiu, president/CEO, TakeCare. “Through this partnership, we hope to assist the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association to help youth develop and grow to become world class athletes and help them lead a Balanced Lifestyle that includes Being Active, Relaxing and Unwinding, Eating Right and being Socially Connected”
“We value and appreciate TakeCare’s sponsorship of our youth football league,” said Ross Zapanta, general secretary, Northern Mariana Islands Football Association. “We look forward to this partnership helping the island’s youth develop, grow and succeed as soccer players.”
The Northern Mariana Islands Football Association (NMIFA) was established in August 2005 in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Prior to the formation of NMIFA, “Association Football” did not exist in the CNMI and the sport was loosely played by about 100 youth and men. The football interest was apparent, but it lacked organization and exposure to the rest of the world. The NMIFA sought to build on that interest in hopes that football would grow exponentially in the CNMI.
The NMIFA continues to actively participate with East Asian Football Association (EAFF) and Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and has sent representative National Teams to several EAFF and AFC sanctioned competitions.
