Technology and diabetes: A new era of management - October 30, 2024

Technology is revolutionizing how we manage diabetes, offering hope and improved quality of life for millions of people worldwide. One such device is the continuous glucose monitor or CGM for short, capable of providing real-time, round-the-clock information about blood sugar levels. Unlike traditional finger-prick tests that offer only snapshots of glucose levels, CGM systems use a tiny sensor inserted under the skin to measure glucose in the interstitial fluid continuously. This sensor communicates wirelessly with a receiver or smartphone app, displaying glucose readings every few minutes.
