Charitable Giving Grants

The Foundation’s Charitable Giving grant is offered to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations on Guam and the Northern Mariana Islands to assist with projects focused on health, wellness or the welfare of the disabled, the homeless, families, men, women, youth, and the elderly.

2nd Cycle 2018 Charitable Giving Grant

 

Humanities Guahan $2,500 Donation - Humanities Guåhan is dedicated to promoting public humanities programming for the people of Guam, providing foundational support and educational resources for our island community

 


 

 

Parents Empowering Parents (PEP) $5,000 Donation - Parents Empowering Parents of Children with Disabilities, Inc., also known as “PEP,” is a non-profit organization offering parent training, support activities and advocacy services for youth with disabilities. PEP serves parents, family members, youth with disabilities, educators and professionals. Many parents are uninformed of the specifics of their child’s emotional disability and therefore have a difficult time knowing how to handle inappropriate, sometimes violent behaviors at home and school. These students are at risk for school suspensions, expulsions or dropping out of school and are high risk for drug and alcohol abuse. PEP was established¬ over two years ago providing parent trainings relating to educational and behavioral concerns of children with disabilities. The mission of the organization is parent advocacy, disability training, and support.

Catholic Social Services

 

 


 

 

The grant was awarded to the Catholic Social Services Alee Shelters for Women and Children to purchase heavy duty washer and dryers for their two homes. The Alee Women’s Shelter provides emergency/protective shelter for victims of family domestic violence and sexual assault. The shelter serves women, with or without children who are in crisis from family domestic violence and sexual assault. The Alee Children’s Shelter is an emergency receiving home for children ages birth to seventeen who are victims of abuse and/or neglect.
